Louisa I'm finding that I'm so much more relaxed than everybody thinks I should be and it's because I really got myself very organised in the early planning stages, so it does pay off! Now I just have a list of dates that I need to post cheques and call people etc as everything is done!

Jill Hi Rach,
That's very organised. I have around a month to go and haven't paid for the flowers, cake or the photographer. I've booked them and kept in touch with them and these three people hadn't even asked for deposit either.

I've only:
paid full the church
paid 25% for the videographer
done my makeup and hair trial in Sept
had our bridal shower in Oct
started typing the order of service booklet
dress and bridesmaids dress to be altered next month
the only grooms'party to settle is to get a new white shirt that fit cufflinks, because they are getting cufflinks, tie and pen as their present

the list goes on.
Best of luck for yours.
Cheers,Jill

EmmyLou I had a bit of a panic attack on the weekend when I realised it's only 12 months & 1 week to go. Then I realised I have almost everything picked out what I want.

I've yet to find a celebrant that we both like but a workmate has given me a glowing recommendation for someone.. Good too coz I've been through most of the ones that advertise in the local paper and either me or H2B find something about them/their personality that we dont like!

Mostly what I have to do now is confirm & pay a deposit with a couple of suppliers, find a reception & ceremony location (easy bit) & order & pay for things that I am getting from places over the net.

Plus, need to find what everyone is going to wear! I should find something for the guys at least over this summer & I will probably look for some sandles for the girls & myself to wear.

I think I'm pretty on track!

Jill Hi Jacinta,

thanks for asking.

Today, we were supposed to pay the second instalment for the videographer(1 month towards our wedding), and we took a day off to do that. At 10am in the morning we got the phone call from the videographer: (name deleted for privacy reasons)that he had decided to pull out from doing our videography. It is a very upsetting time, considering it is less than 1 month to go.

About 8 months ago, we signed agreement with videographer and in the agreement, it says that he had to look for another videographer if he pulls out of the contract. I'm not sure whether we can proceed with that matter. When we met him, he had just filmed 4 weddings, from last I heard, he had done 4 more after we last heard from him. His reason for pulling out, is that he feels that his final product will not be good enough for our expectations. That's the first time I've heard a wedding supplier says such a thing. He doesn't have another wedding on our wedding date, and nothing we say can change his mind. He lives 2 hours away from us, and the first time, he was all sweet and nice when he wanted our connection.

We had done everything we can to satisfy his desires,or should I say it, greed- he is the only wedding supplier that wants a three course meal like all the other wedding guests while all other suppliers I know only requested main meal with beverages(no alcohol). we also hadn't heard from the hiring company, and we had also put in the deposit in April.

Everything had gone according to schedule up till today, and like what everyone had mentioned, something just had to go wrong. On top of that, h2b had been throwing up and having diarohoe(sori wrong spelling) since Wednesday, hence he hadn't been at work. We waited for 3 hours and only got to see the doctor at 4pm, although the appointment was at 1.15pm, made at 10am that same day. So many things to organise so little time.

Hhm, not my day.
Cya.
Cheers,Jill

Jill hi Hayley,
thanks, the first videographer we rang is available on our wedding day. we just drove to and fro for 3 hours just to pay the deposit, still very disappointed considering with the tax cheque to be paid by end of next week, we just had all the savings tied up in deposits for two different companies.
hope all things go well for yours.
cheers,jill
10 Nov 2006 04:14 PM
Jacinta That is terrible news Jill!!! Are you happy with the new company???? I would be making sure i get every cent of your deposit back from the original one!!! I wish you could post who it is, that is insane to do that to couple!!
10 Nov 2006 09:45 PM
EmmyLou Hayley,

That's good to hear you have everything organised.

We've hit a snag.... Money...
There just isn't enough of it!

We are going to have to sit down and re-do out guest list - it's only estimated at the moment but I may have to do some suttle questioning from the interstate friends & rellies & see how many of them are actually going to be coming!

Jill Hi Jacinta,(et al)

The first company we rang returned our phone call immediately and because Friday is our only day off together, we drove there to drop the deposit.

It's always good to have backup just in case things didn't go according to plans.

Our photographers had reassured us that they would take more photos to cover the events not covered by the video.

So much details to settle, so little time to do.
This weekend,is bridesmaid's dress alterations.
Next weekend, I think it's hen's night.

Cheers,Jill
